There are many awesome side quests hidden in Night City that will be real discoveries for all curious players.
Anyone launching Cyberpunk 2077 for the first time should prepare for hundreds of side missions in advance. Most of them have nothing to do with automatic calls from customers, but are simply marked with special markers on the map, which V must investigate on his own. Therefore, if you want to take a break from the main plot, look for question marks on the map and go to the indicated points.
Completing side quests is completely optional, but some of them involve characters closely related to the main story, and therefore these side missions directly affect the ending of the game. However, most of the hidden missions are light-hearted, fun, and sometimes downright ridiculous mini-adventures with pretty generous rewards for completing them.
Initially there were only 10 missions on the list, but over the past couple of months, players have discovered a few more excellent side quests scattered throughout Night City. Not all of them start automatically, but if you know who V should talk to in order to start the mission or at what point to be, then there should be no problems with completing quests.
So, if you want to be 100% complete and finally find all the secret side missions, it’s time to return to Cyberpunk 2077, which just received a major patch that fixed most of the nasty bugs.
This side quest in the nomad camp starts only if you complete the final mission in the Panam Palmer chain (“Queen of the Highway”). Head to the camp, guided by the marker on the map, and talk to the man who is looking after the sick son.
At the start of the mission, V travels to Kabuki to meet with the doctor. But, as you might guess, things are not going according to plan, and V gets involved in a shootout with the police. Having dealt with the opponents, talk to the doctor again to decide what to do with him. Your decision will also affect the fate of the sick nomad.
If you travel around Night City in search of unusual motorcycles and cars, you will definitely love this quest, because the reward for it is Nazare’s “Itsumade” bike. To start the side mission, head to the Fast Travel Terminal (East Rancho Coronado) and head towards the huge dam with the Petrochem logo.
Near the dam you will find a building with a garage, which contains tips for starting the special mission “Romantic from the Highway”. These clues should take you first to Japan Town, then to Northside, and then to the All Foods Factory, where you will find another garage with a combination lock. You just have to drive in the password (0214) and become the proud owner of one of the best bikes in the game.
Cyberpunk 2077 is far from horror, but it has enough eerie scenes and quests to impress even the most cold-blooded Night City mercenaries. To start the mission, go to the Northside area, after completing the main task “Eternal Dream”. You need to approach the marker southeast of the docks and the market.
Here V will stumble upon a bloody scene. Search the corpses scattered around the location to gather the necessary information, and prepare for a battle with a terrible boss that will appear from a bloody bath of ice located in the middle of the site.
Vee can run into cyberpsychics even during normal shopping. In order to launch this hidden side quest, you need to get to the downtown area of Knight City and go to the Jinguji clothing store – one of the best in the city. Talk to the seller Zane and then open the shopping screen.
As soon as you close the screen, cyberpsych will burst into the store and begin to wreak havoc. It is impossible to leave the premises at this moment, so you will have to either kill the cyber psycho, or wait until Max-Tac employees come to your aid. It’s always nice to see how they do their job.
Venus in furs
Meredith Stout, one of the main supporting characters, plays an important role in the demo and in the first act of the storyline. The corporate lady from Militech can either be fooled by setting her up in front of the Malmström gang, or befriend her by giving the Malmström gang members a chip with a virus.
If V decides to side with her, some time after completing the last quest with her, Meredith will call the protagonist and inform her that she is going to leave Night City. If you answer that you will miss her, a special romantic mission will be launched, the reward for which is a funny weapon in the form of a toy for adults.
Boy with coins
This quest opens after the completion of the first act. You need to get to the Glen Quarter in Heywood and find the Mega Building H8. Inside you will find a talking vending machine calling himself Brendan. Talk to him to start the mission.
It will not work right away. After each dialogue, you can go about your business, and then return to Brendan. Sooner or later he will be transported to another location, and you will need to find him. Of course, the reward for the quest is not particularly impressive, but the mini-story itself is very interestingly told.
This additional task will definitely appeal to everyone who played the role of V-corporation, and who really did not like the way Abernathy treated them. At some point, V will get a call from Frank, an old friend from Arasaka, and offer to work together to deal with Abernathy. Now you need to meet him at the specified location.
Unfortunately, things get out of hand quickly, as they often do in Night City. But it’s still nice to see quests that are somehow connected with the choice of V’s path from the beginning of the game. Perhaps, after a few DLCs, the Wee corporation will still be able to take revenge on the offender.
A relatively safe mission will open in the middle of the second act, and you can start it in the Little China quarter, after reaching one of the residential blocks. You will immediately understand that you are in the right place, because a man writhing in pain will run towards you, holding on to his groin.
It turns out he has a black market cyber upgrade between his legs, and therefore needs immediate medical attention. This simple and fun side quest is worth completing if only for the hilarious dialogue between V and the poor guy.
Song of the prophet
You will probably meet Harry a couple of times between the first and second acts outside of Esoteric Misty. It is difficult to get past him, but, surprisingly, most players never finish the quest associated with him. To help Harry, be sure to listen to the end of all his conspiracy theories (there will be 5 of them). Depending on which quests and side missions you have already completed, some of the lines will change during V’s conversation with Harry. And don’t forget to share money with him.
At some point, Harry will need V’s help to fight off the nomads. If you help him, he will share the coordinates of a mysterious chip with encoded data. As soon as you decipher the information on the chip, you will have an interesting conversation with Harry’s student.
Love in the stadium
Some of the side quests are not worth the time spent on them, but the game has a ton of hidden missions with solid rewards. One of them is associated with the dangerous 6th Street gang. To start the mission, head to Rancho Coronado, where a particularly noisy party is taking place.
After talking with the leader of the gang, the shooting competition will begin. If V manages to score 44 points or more in him, the leader will give the protagonist a powerful assault rifle “Force in Conflict”. And the mission is notable for the fact that in it we are given the opportunity to calmly talk with the gang members, without arranging a carnage.
Big in Japan
This whole mission is one big Easter egg, referring to one of the scenes in the TV series “Office”. To start the mission, you need to find a guy named Dennis in Afterlife, who will offer you, in exchange for a reward, to find a refrigerator with the inscription “No future” in Kabuki.
You will have to fight the members of the Tiger Claws gang in order to get to the right refrigerator, inside which you will find an unconscious person. Deliver it to the indicated location to receive the deadly Scalpel sword.
Losing my faith
Everyone knows very well that the Malmström gang is perhaps the most insane and cruel of the city gangs, and this mission puts a special emphasis on this. You need to speak to the monk meditating near the docks in the Northside quarter of Watson. He will tell you that his brother was kidnapped by members of the Malmström gang and held hostage, forcibly installing cyber upgrades on him. Offer your help to the monk.
The monk will ask you not to kill anyone, and therefore it is best to act in accordance with his wishes. And during the rescue operation in the gang’s hideout, you can find an excellent weapon “Fenrir”, which lies on the table in the room with the brother of the monk.
Any non-runner in Cyberpunk 2077 would love to get hold of a good set of scripts, and there is a special quest for such players. At the moment it is not clear what exactly launches this side mission, but the starting condition remains unchanged – it is necessary to buy the “Book of Spells” from Nyx in the Afterlife, in which, sooner or later, the coordinates of a very familiar dump will appear.
Once at the junkyard, you can pick up a unique weapon that lies near the rotting corpse of Dexter DeShawn, as well as find a strange refrigerator with an old cyberdeck inside. Bring it to Nyx to get some data out of her, and then save him when breaking the deck doesn’t go to plan. The reward for completing the mission will be a set of useful scripts.
Chances are, you’ve already driven past the Pacific, admiring an old roller coaster that has long been out of service. But the good news is that you can fix a roller coaster and then ride it with Johnny Silverhand. First you need to talk to Anel and Jin, who are nearby.
The roller coaster control panel is located on the left side of the location, and V will have to go downstairs to fix it. If you suddenly cannot find the point you want, just scan the slides. As a reward, you’ll get a ride with Johnny and some experience.
In a back alley in Vista Del Rey, which is marked with an exclamation mark, you can find a corpse and an open suitcase with a very strange-looking pistol. Press the button of interaction with the suitcase and select any option you like.
Skippy is an extremely powerful weapon in front of you, and the quest itself is just beginning. When you destroy about 50 enemies with it, Skippy will finally remember who its real owner is. And now you have to decide whether to keep Skippy or return it to its owner.
