The sequel to the Netflix series will be released in December. He now has a real teaser.
At the end of today’s WitcherCon broadcast, Henry Cavill unveiled a full trailer for the second season of The Witcher. You can watch it above.
Back in mid-June, Netflix showed us a short 10 second video. This is much more significant. It starts with Geralt and Ciri going to Kaer Morhen – quiet voices, loud statements about a changing world – and then, as you might expect, the situation escalates.
The release date has also been announced today. The second season of The Witcher will air on Netflix on December 17 this year. The WitcherCon broadcast also revealed a few small details. We learned that Geralt will face Leshim – a very nasty forest monster – and I’m afraid we won’t see him bathing in any tubs. Also important: the image of Buttercup will be more “rock and roll”.
Also coming soon is the anime film “The Witcher” dedicated to Geralt’s mentor Vesemir: Netflix announced the release date – 23 August.
It just so happens that Vesemir, played by Kim Bodnia in the series, is Lauren Schmidt Hissrich’s favorite new character in the second season. The scene with Vesemir and Ciri in Kaer Morhen’s laboratory is her favorite scene this season, she said, and “it took a whole day to shoot.”
Once again, the second season of The Witcher will be available to watch on December 17 at midnight PST.
