Cyberpunk 2077 mod brings wall running back to the game

The wall-running feature was introduced back in 2018, but was later abandoned.

During the entire development period of Cyberpunk 2077, the game has undergone many changes. So, one of the functions that the developers decided to abandon was wall running. But the new mod brings this feature back.

The WallRun mod from developer Saturne is still under development, and its description warns “don’t expect something crazy, the mod is hardly usable yet,” and adds that it’s “more of a proof that the concept can be put into practice.” … However, it is available on NexusMods and requires a double jump near the wall to work.

The mod is not yet complete, it does not work with all walls, and there is also a risk of dying from a fall. But it is interesting to see how this mechanic would have looked within the framework of the game if the developers had not abandoned it. The feature was first demonstrated at E3 2018, where V moved along a wall using Mantis Blades to attach to it.

Cyberpunk 2077 was not in the best shape at the time of release, but several updates have been added to the game since then. The recent 1.2 patch boasts 484 PC fixes, but there is still a lot of work to be done.
