After the release of the PC version of Days Gone, the gaming community did not sit idly by and created stunning mods for a variety of gameplay.
After the release of Days Gone on PC on Steam and Epic Games, many players first entered the harsh post-apocalyptic world of the acclaimed title. And even gamers who are lucky enough to play the PS4 version don’t mind coming back and taking a look at some of the improvements.
Of course, the PC version supports mods, so right after the release, the modders worked tirelessly. They mainly focused on improving and reconfiguring various aspects of gameplay or activating cheat codes. And the longer the community will enjoy the game, the more large and entertaining modifications await us.
One of the most frequently asked questions since the PC version of Days Gone is whether it has cheat codes or console commands. While this feature is absent in the base game, one of the earliest mods adds cheat codes for Days Gone.
Wemod gives players access to many cheat codes that allow them to change the game in a variety of ways. Here you will find a god mode, an unlimited amount of ammunition, and a simplification of crafting (for example, opening all recipes), and many other cheats that are presented on the mod’s website.
Not A Reshade
Days Gone is out on PC with significant graphics improvements over the PS4 version. However, few computers support the highest graphics settings without sacrificing performance, and modders have tried to solve this problem.
AlanPoster’s Not A Reshade mod allows you to debug graphics without the help of reshade or retextures. It features improved reflections, high-quality dimming, sharper shadows, more voluminous lighting, an improved brightness range and other settings that improve both visuals and game performance.
2x Engine Speed
In Days Gone, players are attracted by a huge open world that is so fun to explore. Despite the presence of a motorcycle, which in addition can be upgraded, many players lack the speed in conquering the roads. Fortunately, the modders were able to satisfy their requests.
One of the simplest mods to make exploring and traveling easier is 2X Engine Speed from TheNeru. The mod accelerates all engines for Deacon’s bike in half, so go ahead – towards the wanderings!
New Game Plus Save
For fans of re-play, including after PS4, the New Game Plus mode would be a great gift, because who loves collecting collectibles and unlocking upgrades in the second round? Unfortunately, this is not possible in the base game.
The New Game Plus Save mod is a save file with all the weapons and upgrades for the bike. Also cut out the intro: the player goes straight to the part where he gets his first bike from Manny.
Days Gone takes place in a post-apocalyptic world teeming with hordes of zombies. One of the most iconic challenges the player faces is the hordes of freaks that must be tracked down and eliminated. While these battles are tough on their own, experienced players may feel that the hordes are not large enough.
This is no longer a problem thanks to Aigmir’s Massive Hordes mod. The mod increases the number of the horde from about 50 to 200 individuals, and in the later stages of the game, their number may well exceed a thousand.
Multiple Difficulty Rebalances
Days Gone has various difficulty levels that affect the gameplay, however some players lack additional customization. Someone is not happy with the damage done at higher difficulty levels, but someone, on the contrary, wants a real challenge.
Many mods change the game’s difficulty settings, but Bhaeron’s Multiple Difficulty Rebalances is the most flexible. The mod is available in various versions and fixes the blatant injustice with damage at higher difficulty levels. It allows you to increase the enemy’s damage multipliers on both Hard and Survival levels, and optionally changes the amount of ammo collected.
The most popular mods for any title are cosmetic. They change the look of the game by adding different character clothing and equipment. You can even wear the head of Thomas the Tank Engine on the villain!
With the Veironn Deacon Pack mod, you get seven new costumes for the protagonist with special colors and biker patches. The mod also contains two bonuses: winter jackets for Crater Lake and a special Deacon outfit for flashbacks.
