It didn’t take long.
While Mass Effect Legendary Edition is now highly rated, the game received mixed reviews when it first appeared on Steam. So, many users complained about the inability to adjust the field of view, the maximum value of which was 70. Fortunately, modders came to the rescue. Developer JadeBarker has released a mod for NexusMods called Better Camera (Higher FOV) that improves the camera and field of view in the game.
Anyone who has ever worked with mods for original games is probably familiar with the Coalesced.bin file in the BioGame CookedPCConsole folder, which must be replaced for most mods to work. The main thing is not to forget to make a backup. After replacing the file with its version from the mod, press F10 in the game to adjust the view level to a value suitable for you. But here there are some problems, for example, the second level of zoom does not work when shooting from the “Mako” (accessible by pressing ctrl). Apparently, you cannot have everything at once.
BioWare is familiar with Mass Effect mods and has used them as a reference for improving the Legendary Edition on several occasions.
