Xiaomi has been developing mobile devices and launching them on the market for almost eight years now. During this period, the brand has managed to learn a lot, and at the same time realize the importance of the combination of technical equipment and software. The company tries to do everything in its power to ensure that its branded phones are better than those of competitors. Every year it becomes more difficult to do this, because lately, mobile devices from Oppo, Huawei, Honor, Vivo, Realme and a number of other electronics manufacturers, also striving for success, have begun to enjoy wide popularity on the market. One of the main advantages of Xiaomi phones was and remains now the MIUI firmware, which the corporation regularly updates, doing this, as a rule, annually.
Currently, the newest and most modern firmware of the company is MIUI 12, which has already been released for more than 40 models of smartphones, at least according to official figures. Nevertheless, it will take some time and users will find the MIUI 13 firmware available, even if it has not yet been officially presented to the public. According to the resource ABZax.com, analyzing the behavior of Xiaomi in recent years, the latest software can be announced in January-February 2021, when the presentation of phones from the Mi 11 line will take place. The new operating system will bring with it an improved user interface, support for new features , new more efficient energy conservation algorithms, a number of new applications, several new artificial intelligence and neural networks to improve user experience, and a number of other innovations.
It is in all these areas that Xiaomi has been developing the MIUi firmware in recent years. Of course, the new operating system for the company’s phones will have some unique features, but it will only be possible to learn about them closer to the moment of its launch on the market. Let the MIUI 13 firmware be announced at the beginning of next year, with a high degree of probability, but its final stable build may become available for download and installation to users only in the spring, that is, after two to three months. That is why it is worth focusing on the fact that the possibility of its installation will appear only in April-May. As for smartphones that will receive a new operating system based on Android 10 or Android 11, depending on the specific phone model, everything is still ambiguous here.
All smartphones that were released in 2019 and 2020 will definitely receive the new firmware, but the fate of the older ones is in question. Every year Xiaomi in this regard greatly surprises everyone, that is, sometimes it refuses software support for old obsolete phones, and sometimes, on the contrary, updates to the latest software seemingly such phone models that are outdated by more than five years. What is the manufacturer guided by with such a sample unknown to anyone. Flagship owners will, of course, be able to install MIUI 13 as the very first, but users of various budget smartphones are likely to get access to the latest operating system last. As is always the case with the OS for the brand’s phones, it will spread in waves, that is, first one group of phones will be updated, and then another. This process can take several months.
