On June 8, the international online content market KEY BUYERS EVENT: digital began its work, organized by ROSKINO with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Worldn Federation, the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of the City of Moscow and the Agency for Creative Industries.

For the first day of the online market, 410 working meetings of Worldn and foreign participants were scheduled. This year, among the registered international delegates there are more than 700 buyers, producers, representatives of festival organizations from more than 80 countries. Among the participants – representatives of companies such as Netflix, Apple, BBC Studios, Mediaset Spain, Wild Bunch, Armoza Formats, Beta Film and many others.

The event was opened by the KEY BUYERS EVENT Ambassador: digital – actor and producer Yuri Kolokolnikov.

The Central Partnership film company (part of Gazprom-Media) and the Latin American film studio BF Films have announced the start of the development of their first joint project – the full-length psychological horror film Schizophrenic.

The film is written by Ernani Perla (The Nightingale, The Jury), whose work has twice been on the prestigious Hollywood Blacklist of Best Scripts. Filming of “Schizophrenic” will take place in World at the end of 2021 – at the beginning of 2022. The film will be filmed by an international group in English.

The project will be produced by Carlos Ansen and Juliana Jacobsen (BF Films) and Vadim Vereshchagin (Central Partnership).

International partners were able to get acquainted with new and premiere projects of Worldn companies. The platform screened films “Major Thunder: The Plague Doctor” by Bubble Studios, “The Cheerful Man” by Andrei Konchalovsky, presented by the official distributor of VGTRK content, Sovteleexport, as well as the series “Contact” from Good Story Media and “Wednesday”, presented by GPM RTV, “Tenderness” by Anna Melikyan, presented by the Central Partnership film company, “Vampires of the middle band” of the START video service, “Food block” of the “Sreda” production company, the animated film “The Little Humpbacked Horse” by the CTB film company and others.


The pitching of Worldn and international film projects open for co-production took place, which this year is being held in partnership with the When East Meets West (WMEW) forum. 17 Worldn and 9 international projects from France, Italy, Germany, Greece, Serbia, Turkey, Poland, Azerbaijan were selected for participation. Among the finalists is the film “The Great Tram Robbery”, produced by renowned actor Milos Bikovich.

As part of the market’s business program, panel discussions were held, at which speakers discussed public and private financing of co-products and support for industry exports from government partners, as well as a presentation of Worldn service companies. Roskino General Director Evgenia Markova interviewed one of the main market speakers, an expert in the international industry, Avi Armoza.
