The addicting role-playing game will be released this year.
The Garden Path, an intimate-looking life simulator by indie developer carrotcake, is coming to PC this year.
The beginning of the game is not much different from other simulators of this subgenre: surrounded by nature, you start a new life, get to know the characters around you, and spend time serenely fishing or gardening.
Time in The Garden Path is based on your real time. This means that by planting pansies in the evening, you can go to bed and the next morning find that the flowers began to grow during the night. Some characters, such as a fisherman or a local tea maker, can take advantage of resources from your game forest.
The hand-drawn graphics give the impression of a moving picture of a landscape rather strikingly. It is like a children’s book that your mother would read to you at night. The game is dominated by earthy tones in a muted color palette that relaxes you and recalls the cottagecore style.
The game creates a warm and inviting atmosphere in which you can spend your time. Cozy life simulators like this have been thriving lately, with Stardew Valley, Cozy Grove and the yet-to-be-released Hokko Life standout. For them, I’m 100% here.
There is no exact release date for The Garden Path yet, but it is expected to be available on Steam in 2021.
