The Lord of the Rings to be released in 4K HDR and shown in IMAX theaters

The legendary film trilogy “The Lord of the Rings” was released in theaters in 2001-2003, but these films are still some of the best in the history of cinematography. Director Peter Jackson managed to shoot three gorgeous films at once, which at one time made a certain revolution in the world of cinema, since during the filming of these films even special technologies were developed that allow, for example, to reduce or vice versa increase the growth of characters, and without any computer special effects, because at that time they simply did not exist in the form in which they have been available for several years. By modern standards, when almost all films are filmed in closed pavilions against the background of a green chroma key, the trilogy of films The Lord of the Rings looks a little outdated, because about two decades have passed since the release of these films.

Of course, no one is going to re-shoot these films, because it is unlikely that fans of the universe of Middle-earth will react positively to this, and it is very difficult, if not impossible, to surpass the previously achieved result. In this regard, the creators of this picture decided, using modern digital technologies, to “refine” the visual component of the film, using the original original material. Due to this, all three films, known as “The Fellowship of the Ring”, “The Two Towers” and “The Return of the King”, will soon be released in a restored form with improved picture and support for dynamic HDR lighting, due to which the picture will look much more modern as if the films were made quite recently.

Now, at the present time, it is impossible to find the trilogy of films “The Lord of the End” in high definition resolution, because at the time of the release of this tape even the 1080p format was considered something incredibly modern, because it was 2003, when many people used analog TV models , and the Internet was extremely poorly distributed. Nevertheless, modern technologies have made it possible to improve the picture in the movies about Middle-earth to modern 4K Ultra HD resolution. All this became possible thanks to the preserved original original materials, which at one time were obtained during the filming. With their use, it was possible to achieve a significant improvement in the quality of the picture in general.

All three films will be digitally redesigned later this year, all of which will be available in 4K HDR with new color grading to enhance visual appeal. In addition, all of these tapes will be shown in theaters in IMAX format. On the big screens “The Fellowship of the Ring” will be released on April 15, “Two Fortresses” – on April 22, and “The Return of the King” will be shown on April 29. It is important to understand that so far all these dates are only preliminary, because at any moment everything can change due to the epidemic situation in the world. It is possible that all three of these films from the Lord of the End universe will be shown in theaters several times in 2021, so that everyone can see the long-standing hits of their time in ultra-clear resolution, in which they have never been available before.
