New adventures will take place in parallel in 2004 and 1937.
The Syberia games are graphic adventures developed by Microids under the leadership of the legendary Benoit Sokal. They tell about the travels of a young woman named Kate Walker through an amazing, semi-real world. The first two games in the series, released in 2002 and 2004, received very good reviews. The third game, released after a long delay in 2017, is definitely not like that. In fact, in our 30 percent review, we said that “it would be better if the episode ended with Kate waving goodbye to Hans at the end of Syberia 2 as he drove off on his mammoth.”
This year Microids will again try to finish the game, but in a different way, namely Syberia: The World Before, which is scheduled for release on December 10th.
Announced in 2019, The World Before will take Kate Walker back on a new adventure “across continents and time periods” in a story “based on the turmoil and tragedy of the 20th century”. Players will explore the world and solve puzzles simultaneously as Walker, imprisoned in a salt mine in 2004, and Dana Rose, a 17-year-old girl from 1937 whose future as a pianist becomes questionable when the Brown Shadow of Fascism looms over Europe from the alternate history of the game. …
If you’re not sure if Syberia is exactly what you want (or if Syberia 3 has left a bad taste), you can check out the game in the free prologue chapter available on Steam and GOG, as well as learn more about the upcoming events on the microids website. com.
