Movies from the Star Wars universe are more than three decades old, but new projects continue to be actively released to this day. Moreover, the Disney company, to which the American director George Lucas sold the rights to this brand, in the coming years is going to release several different television series at once, the events of which will be boiled down in this universe, but at different time periods. One such series is The Mandalorian, originally released in 2019 and still in production. The public received this series very warmly, so the studio considered it necessary to continue to invest large budget funds in this direction of cinema. The events of all the films in the series unfold at different times, so it is difficult for an unprepared viewer, and an experienced one, to understand the sequence and chronology of what is happening.
In connection with the release of the first books and comics under the Lucasfilm brand, which are considered the original Star Wars universe, an official chronology of all films and TV series appeared, using which you can understand at what time certain events unfold. The creators of this universe decided to divide it into six main periods of time, each of which had its own key characteristics. Each of the episodes is divided into several more time periods, but so far the details are known only about the very first one, which is called “The Rise of the Republic”, from which it all began.
During this time period, viewers will be told about the birth of the Jedi Order and the peculiarities of their culture. The second time period is called “The Fall of the Jedi”, which refers to the prequels (films of the 2000s) and the animated series “The Clone Wars”, which ended not so long ago. Then, in chronology, comes “Rule of the Empire”, which includes the animated series “Bad Batch” and a separate film about Han Solo. The fourth position was given to the “Age of Resistance” period, referring to the animated series “Rebels”, “Rogue One” and the original trilogy of “Star Wars” films. The fifth chapter is called “The New Republic” and includes the series “The Mandalorian”, available for everyone to watch on Disney TV.
The sixth and so far the final period of time is the “Birth of the First Order”, which includes the animated series “Resistance” and the entire trilogy of sequels, that is, films of the 2020s. This universe will continue to develop actively and further, so in the next five years, viewers and readers of comics will definitely be able to find out the answers to many questions that have worried some for more than three decades. So, for example, in 2021 a series about Obi-Wan Kenobi will be released, which will tell about where one of the last Jedi in the Galaxy disappeared, choosing the path of a hermit on a distant planet, instead of openly fighting evil. The Disney television company is confident that the Star Wars universe is extremely promising for development, especially since many people have known it since childhood. Based on these factors, its expansion will now be carried out on an ongoing basis with the help of new films and series, as well as books and comics.
